Maricopa Lodge #1 is a Prince Hall Masonic lodge within the Jurisdiction of Arizona.  We were chartered on the fourth day of May, 1920. We are distinguished, dedicated and intellectual men.  Our fraternity's purpose is to focus on the achievement of mankind and the promotion of growth in character.  We do this through devotion to the tenets of brotherly love, relief and truth. We aim to inspire good men, bound by virtue, to become better men, citizens and leaders in their homes and communities.

Prince Hall

Historical Context

Prince Hall Masonry played a crucial role in African American history, offering a platform for leadership and organization during the abolitionist movement, the Reconstruction era, and the Civil Rights Movement. Its members have included prominent leaders such as W.E.B. Du Bois, Thurgood Marshall, and Booker T. Washington, who used the fraternity as a base to promote social and political change.

Prince Hall Masonry offers a sense of belonging and camaraderie among men who share common values, principles, and goals. For many, the fraternity becomes an extended family, providing emotional support, encouragement, and shared purpose.
